Funny thing about that. The stuff from earlier days does seem to get buried. I know I don’t seem to find the time to go back through older posts, so having some previous shots brought forward is much appreciated. I meant to comment on the composition previously. That straight line of the path really does walk you right straight into the picture. Very, very nice.
Absolutely gorgeous! I haven’t been to Oxford but I remember at Cambridge being told to keep off the grass. Is it the same at Oxford? I see chairs, so perhaps not. In any case, that grass is superb, and the perspective gained by the stripes is very striking.
The previous day had been the end of term party for the families (there was a marquee just out of shot, it was the bright sun and dark sky which drew my eye and I used the stripes in the lawn to lead you up the path.
I really like this one. It has so much going on. And that sullen sky is to die for.
As I am on holiday I am posting some of the images from way back which didn’t get the exposure they deserved, glad you like it.

I would recommend Oxford though – as good if not better than Cambridge.
