I suppose this type of image is starting to define my style – large open spaces mottled by a variety of light. I do love those aftersun shots – for me more interesting than the big warm ball – thoughts

  1. Eventhough it is a typical Marshall sunset as Ive seen over the years , I can see a big change in them…more variety, details but overall loved ;-)

  2. There is a lot of emotion in your photos now, it is as if it isn’t about what you like anymore, but about what you want, if that makes any sense. I am sure that is what makes your images so engaging. As for that light issue – I couldn’t take decent photos without playing with the light, I can’t draw or paint without letting the light flow through and define what I do. Photography is essentially about light, not necessarily about the sun itself, but the light that is radiated and what you do with it, it is how you create warmth or cold, and how you portray colours. You do that really well, the technicality in your photography is now taking a back seat in that it is definitely there 100% but it isn’t in your face and allows the image to speak for itself, and your mind through it in a sense. I expect that you must be very pleased with the way your photography has evolved, personally I think you should be.

  3. You have a lovely style Scott, your photos always make me want to come back for more. It’s obvious how much you enjoy what you’re photographing and in addition to these wonderful landscapes you capture, your photos of buildings really appeal to me. I have in my mind a vision of the inside of a church in Italy that you took, and other shots of Italy, that made a big impression on me. I had a look in your galleries but I couldn’t find them. Are they in there somewhere? I think an Italy gallery would be a fine addition to your collection.

  4. Wonderful photo

  5. Agree – you have a definite style that evokes feelings. A rare talent, indeed. :)

  6. I suspect you already know how I feel about the big warm ball. This one is truly superb… almost heading into the realm of an abstract. Very gorgeous indeed!
