Ballindalloch is one of the most beautiful and renowned castles in Scotland. Known as the Pearl of the North, it is located in the heart of Speyside, near to the famed local whisky distilleries of Cragganmore, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas and Glenfiddich. Surrounded by majestic hills, and with the tumbling waters of the Rivers Spey and Avon flowing through the grounds, the setting is truly magnificent.

Wow! Stunning image!
On days like these as you it is straightforward
Stunning castle. I could move in tomorrow.
I am short of rooms
Beautiful photograph of this lovely building Scott.
I have as you are aware a few dud views of this place – mainly due to flat light – but this day was perfect
Ah, the magic 3D touch…! It looks spectacular; even the sky ‘opened’ at just the right places.
It does look good in this light – but can appear quiet bland. The gardens are anything but bland and the interior is on a par with Waddeson Manor in England – if you are familiar.
Great shot, but I think I’d need an army of maids and butlers to even consider living there.
If you could see the gardens you wouldn’t think twice
Lovely shot of a magnificent pile. Is it privately owned?
Yes it is privately owned and all the better for it. The Macpherson-Grant Clan http://www.ballindallochcastle.co.uk/speyside/index.cfm – Gardens (wow factor) and from your perspective the tearoom is rather good – interior is special.
I hope you are not displeased with me, but I took a pic of your blog on my iPhone, so that I can draw it for a backdrop for a play. I was supposed to be searching the net for a castle that I wanted to copy for the play (done by Rabbi & Cantors) ‘WICKED’
Not a problem – thank you for having a dig around and all your positive comments – #verypleased
